Picture Time
For years while I travelled I took many, many photos but I seem to have fallen out of the habit since I have settled a bit. Even photographing my FO's doesn't seem to happen that often, and I have to explain to people who ask to see my work (most of which gets given away) that I have no record of it.
I am determined to change this and present some of my latest snaps.
Firstly, as promised, photos of my Mum's finished lacy socks.

Socktoberfest update
It's not even the middle of October and I have already finished a pair of socks!!
I wanted to do something quickly for my Mum's birthday this week and seized the opportunity this past weekend. I think I knew that this would probably be the last quiet weekend I will have until Christmas so I made sure that I completely indulged...this meant a lot of knitting, lazy breakfasts overlooking the ocean, long walks and lots of movies (all the Matrix movies, My own Private Idaho, Like Water for Chocolate..I think that was it). Absolute perfection.
I will hopefully post a picture tomorrow but I wanted a quick cablesque pattern and googled these sweet mock cable/lacey numbers from Scarlett. Super easy pattern to remember. Only problem was that my 2 skeins of Lorna's in Blackberry do not match, despite stating they are from the same dyelot!!!! I'm not quite sure what I am going to do about this. I think I will present them to her on Sunday then reclaim them and try again with a pattern from my latest purchase Knitting on the Road .
Sock Wars update: have fired my second weapon and have been contacted by my assasin to say that my death is imminent. At least I made it through the second wave!!
Finally, I got some sad news this weekend - Jack, a beautiful border collie that I lived with for over 2 years, until only a couple of months ago was killed on Sunday. RIP Jacky Boy

Sock Wars are still raging
Well I have completed 2 sets of socks and posted both to their targets. Now I am awaiting the unfinished weapons from my second victims victim....confused yet?? Luckily they live in the same state as I do so hopefully I wont be waiting for too long.
And I'm still waiting to be killed....have not received any information from my assasin....so who knows. I'm just going to keep on knitting.
And then there is the Socktoberfest. I have several other pairs of socks that have been put on hold during the war that I would love to finish, a pair of Badcaul in Lorna's Laces Powder Blue form my 94 year old Nan, my pair of Jaywalkers, and I want to find a nice cabled pattern for a pair of birthday socks for my Mum, in yummy Lorna's Blackberry.
Will keep you posted.
